River Edge offers outpatient services at our Emery Highway-Macon, Monroe County and Baldwin County locations. Outpatient services include behavioral health, nursing, and psychiatric assessment, stabilization and medication maintenance services as well as crisis intervention services as well as awareness, education and recovery groups.
The Crisis Service and Diagnostic Center is a program designed to offer individual tailored assistance and brief (up to 90-day) stabilization for a maximum of sixteen (16) adults aged 18 and above, who have intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or concurrent IDD/BH diagnoses. These individuals are facing psychiatric challenges and/or significant emotional/behavioral changes that are impacting their essential functions, potentially jeopardizing their ability to stay in their usual home environment.

Location/Schedule – 750 Hazel Street, Macon Georgia M-F 8am-5pm
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the nursing department, manage resources effectively, and make decisions to ensure the smooth functioning of the crisis service facility.
- Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff during crisis situations, ensuring proper delegation of tasks and coordination of care.
- Manage nurse staffing levels, create schedules, and ensure appropriate coverage to meet the needs of the crisis service facility.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of nursing care provided during crises, implement quality improvement initiatives, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
- Ensure that staff are properly trained.
- Participate in crisis interventions, assess patient needs, provide clinical guidance to staff, and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients in crisis.
- Develop and implement training programs for nursing staff on crisis management, de-escalation techniques, and specialized interventions for patients in crisis to include healthcare plans.
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists, social workers, and behavioral staff, to coordinate care and support interdisciplinary teamwork during crises.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to crisis management, emergency protocols, and patient safety within the facility.
- Maintain open communication channels with nursing staff, patients, families, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and effective crisis resolution.
- Address and personnel issues to promote a productive and supportive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies relevant to crisis services and nursing practice.
Qualifications Needed (education and/or experience):
- Must have active Georgia RN license
- At least 5 years working as an RN with at least 2 years in a supervisory position
- At least 2 years working on a behavioral health/ intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) or related field
- Must have good computer skills.
- Communications skills and the ability to foster good relationships among others is a plus.
- Preferred IDD experience
