River Edge offers outpatient services at our Emery Highway-Macon, Monroe County and Baldwin County locations. Outpatient services include behavioral health, nursing, and psychiatric assessment, stabilization and medication maintenance services as well as crisis intervention services as well as awareness, education and recovery groups.
River Edge is actively searching for a Full-time Scheduler to join our Centralized Scheduling department. In this role, you will handle phone calls, schedule client appointments, verify client records and financial applications, and ensure clients are scheduled with approved third-party insurance payers.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Answer the phone professionally and positively, directing calls or scheduling appointments as needed.
- Schedule all doctor appointments, outpatient visits, and group/community support services for the client’s appropriate service area.
- Ensure clients are scheduled with approved third-party insurance payers.
- Verify client records for correct authorization, connects, treatment plan, intake assessment, and annual updates.
- Verifies client has a current financial application, registration, and current ANSA or CANS on file.
Qualifications
- High Diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Valid Georgia Driver’s license
- All applicants must pass a satisfactory background clearance and pre-employment drug test.
- Provide 2 Professional references (Former employers only, no family members).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of third-party insurance eligibility payers, Care logic and/or electronic medical records, and CPT and ICD-9 coding.
- Positive energy person, good communicator.
- Can handle and protect confidential information.
Competencies
Client Scheduling Systems: Proficiency in using scheduling software to manage doctor appointments, outpatient visits, and support services.
Insurance Coordination: Knowledge of third-party insurance payer systems and procedures to ensure proper client scheduling.
Records Management: Ability to verify and maintain accurate client records, including authorizations, treatment plans, and assessments.
Financial Application Processing: Competence in handling client financial applications and ensuring all necessary documents are up to date.
Telephone Etiquette: Skill in answering and managing phone calls professionally and efficiently, directing calls, and scheduling appointments.
