River Edge offers outpatient services at our Emery Highway-Macon, Monroe County and Baldwin County locations. Outpatient services include behavioral health, nursing, and psychiatric assessment, stabilization and medication maintenance services as well as crisis intervention services as well as awareness, education and recovery groups.
River Edge is currently seeking an RN Night Shift Supervisor. As a RN Night Shift Supervisor at our Recovery Center, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the nursing team to provide high-quality care to individuals on their journey to recovery from substance use disorders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Nightly operations of nursing staff.
- Completes physical & mental health assessments.
- Direct adjustments in unit staffing pattern to reflect changes in care requirements, patient census, and staffing resources.
- Ensure that all staff meet or exceed productivity requirements.
- Develops care plans for patients, helping them be as independent as possible.
- Administers and monitors treatment regimens.
- Administers prescribed medications, making constant adjustments commensurate with a patient's condition under the supervision of qualified medical staff.
- Observes and reports behavioral changes.
- Maintains control of drugs and medications
- Helps patients improve their coping abilities.
- Help find coverage or cover open shifts as needed.
- Works with patients' families to help improve the patient's abilities & help them deal with family member's mental illness.
- Records all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
- Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.
- Remain in compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, regulations, and standards, including all of River Edge's policies and procedures and Quality Assurance Plan, DBHDD requirements, State Licensing standards, County Monitoring requirements, and managed care regulations.

Qualifications:
- Current nursing license, in good standing with the Georgia State licensing board.
- Minimum of five (3) years of nursing experience.
- Minimum of three (1) years of Psychiatric experience.
- At least five (2) years of nursing supervisory experience required.
- CARF or Joint Commission certification.
- Strong interpersonal skills; experience working with healthcare bargaining units.
- All applicants must pass a satisfactory background clearance and pre-employment drug test.
- Provide 2 Professional references (Former employers only, no family members)
- Must have knowledge and experience with the chronically mentally ill population.
- Must have strong clinical skills.
- Must have excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Must have ability to multi-task and remain organized.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must also have the strength to pull and push.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to Reach below the waist.
- Must be able to Twist at waist.
- Must be able to Provide emotional support (patient and families)
- Must be able to Deal with the unexpected (patient crash, death, etc.)
- Must be able to Communicate effectively
Competencies:
- Nursing Leadership and Management: Ability to oversee the nightly operations of nursing staff, including directing adjustments in staffing patterns to meet changing care requirements, and ensuring compliance with productivity standards. This involves strategic planning, resource allocation, and effective delegation.
- Clinical Assessment and Care Planning: Proficiency in completing comprehensive physical and mental health assessments, developing individualized care plans for patients, and administering and monitoring treatment regimens. This includes the ability to assess patients' needs, identify appropriate interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
- Medication Management and Control: Skill in administering prescribed medications, adjusting dosages based on patient condition, and maintaining control of drugs and medications according to regulatory requirements. This involves knowledge of pharmacology, medication administration techniques, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Communication and Collaboration: Effective communication is essential for working with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and address behavioral changes or coping abilities. Collaborating with medical staff, families, and other healthcare professionals requires empathy, active listening, and clear communication to facilitate understanding and cooperation.
- Attention to Detail and Compliance: Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for recording care information accurately and completely, maintaining compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, and regulations. This includes adherence to documentation standards, quality assurance measures, and regulatory requirements to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
