Rate of Pay $22/hr

We are seeking a Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide hands-on care to an individual with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. Personal Support Services professionals assist individuals and families living in their personal home. Individual programs are designed around the needs and desires of each participant and implemented with attention and care. Whether living alone or with family members, individually tailored services are the best way to support people on their own terms. Services provided are personalized and directed by the individual receiving support and may include but are not limited to: assistance with personal hygiene, activities/outings, social engagement, and shopping.

This position is:

15- 20 hours per week

Weekdays 2-3 afternoon

Evenings & Saturday 5 hours

Participant Details:

Young woman who lives in the Greektown area of Baltimore, who works part time and would like some support to participate in activities in her neighborhood and develop some more independent skills. Interested in learning to cook and would be open to finding a cooking class or learning about cooking. Enjoys arts and crafts and would like to try pottery or other new creative activities. Hobbies include watching basketball, soccer, and football. Enjoys mini golf and bowling. Needs assistance in searching for a place to do therapeutic horseback riding. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Assisting with participation and exploration of the community
• Cultivating and expanding independent living skills
• Provide assistance with personal hygiene, activities/ outings, social engagement, shopping, planning, cooking, and cleaning.
• Assisting with the development of meaningful and personal relationships

• Complete required documentation (e.g., incident reports, progress notes, behavior data, fire drills etc.)

• Other duties as assigned

 Qualifications:

• High school diploma or G.E.D required
• Current driver’s license (not provisional) with less than 3 points on driving record
• Must be able to transport people supported as needed in personal vehicle
• Requires use of personal cell phone for mobile documentation and time keeping
