HBO Technician - Safety Director- Full Time

Job Summary: Responsible for executing RestorixHealth’s (RXH) company-wide safety policies and protocol within a center.  Assist in educating center staff when necessary, communicating updates to safety protocol and policy to center staff and report any safety issues.  Will also be the point person for safety-related questions during all center-based audits

Primary Responsibilities:  

Execution of all RXH safety policies and protocol, including: 

• -Understands and applies NFPA theory and guidelines 

• -Shall participate with facility and Clinical Services management  and the hyperbaric physician(s) in reinforcing and supporting Company procedures  for operation and maintenance of the hyperbaric facility as well as safety training. 

• -In collaboration with the Clinical Services team, shall make recommendations for departmental safety policies and procedures. 

• -Shall have the authority to restrict or remove any potentially hazardous supply or equipment items from the chamber. 

• -Shall ensure that electrical, monitoring, life-support, protection, and ventilating arrangements in the hyperbaric chamber are inspected and tested as part of the routine maintenance program of the facility. 

• -Emergency medical and fire drills, including registering all drills with the hospital 

• -Checking equipment safety daily 

• -Responsible for preparing and submitting the quarterly safety survey and any other reporting required by the business. 

• -Will monitor chamber safety training for all ancillary personnel in accordance with -----Company and industry best practices.  

• -Safety incident reporting 

• -Ensures & monitors chamber daily/weekly checklist completion 

• -Communication liaison for center staff for all safety updates and changes 

• -Re-educate the center staff on safety 

• -Demonstrate competency in core & unit-specific clinical skills 

• -Must maintain hospital and EMR charting requirements in accordance with RXH and hospital policy. 

• -Ensure competencies are being maintained including continuing education and certificates as required 

• -HIPAA Compliance – complies with all of the Privacy and Confidentiality Policy and

Additional Responsibilities: 

• In collaboration with Clinical Services shall make recommendations for departmental safety policies and procedures 

• Performs other related duties as assigned  

Education and Technical Skills: 

• -Successful and timely completion of a RXH assigned training   

• -A valid and current RT, PA, Active Duty Military Corpsman, EMT/Paramedic certification and/or CHT or CHRN certification, Registered Nurse, LPN/LVN, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician license strongly preferred 

• -Intermediate Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word skills 

• -Must have a valid and current BLS from the American Heart Association 

• -Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-CC, EMT-P), Registered Nurse (RN) or -----Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) active certification strongly preferred.   Other advanced medical certifications will be considered on a case by case basis. 

• -CHT trained/certified preferred   

• -Prior experience with wound care patients preferred
