Account Specialist - BAP

Purpose

The focus of the Account Specialist is to provide primary customer service support and partner with outside sales to manage daily activities for their assigned customer accounts. The Account Specialist serves as the point of contact for customers’ requests and transactions, and coordinates fulfillment of shipping orders. The objective of the position is to assist in the sales process, making transactions easier for both the sales team and customers, while operating under Amco’s guidelines and procedures.

 

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below.   

                

  1. Essential Functions
  1. Coordinates and owns the order flow across multiple departments within Amco
  2. Processes customer purchase order and all related requests
  3. Ensures the transaction meets acceptable profit requirements and shipment deadlines
  4. Provides proper documentation and certifications related to the transaction
  5. Maintains all customer specific information within the Amco operating system
  6. Follows guidelines in submitting accurate and complete requests/paperwork to other departments by appropriate deadlines
  7. Works in conjunctions with the Sales Representative to ensure customers are invoiced correctly at the time of shipment
  8. Communicates order status to customers, including backorder information, blanket order status and future order confirmations
  9. Assists in all proactive duties aimed at executing soft sales, managing targets and maintain current accounts
  10. Understands and communicates company policies and guidelines and  
  11. Contributes to the team’s success by assisting with coverage during absences
  12. Actively problem solves by seeking better alternatives for performing assigned tasks by making rational assessment of options and reaching logical accurate conclusions from available information
  13. Stays up-to-date on development related to the company, profession, resources and technology
  14. Evaluates and makes recommendations to Management in regards to business practices
  15. Assists with additional projects as needed

Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications

  1. Education:
    1. Bachelor's degree preferred
    2. Equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree
  2. Experience:
    1. Experience in distribution and supply chain preferred
    2. 0-2 years of related experience
  3. Licenses / Certifications:
    1. Valid driver’s license – required
  4. Language:
    1. Proficiency in English required
    2. Bi-Lingual – Spanish or Portuguese is a plus

  3. While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to travel by foot, car, bus, airplane, or other means of transportation which require sitting, waiting, and standing for long and short periods of time.
  4. Ability to setup desk equipment including setting up equipment on top of desks and connecting cables and power cords under desk (requiring lifting, bending, pushing, pulling).
