Program:              Parole Support and Treatment Program

Salary Range:       $80,000 - $90,000 per year

 

Program Description:

The Parole Support and Treatment Program provides services to men and women parolees being released from New York State Prisons with a diagnosis of serious mental illness and substance addictions. In addition to temporary housing, an array of services is offered to the clients. Our services include the Parole Support and Treatment Program Transitional Housing Program (PSTP), Safe Transitions and Empowerment Project (STEP), Intensive Case Management (ICM), Supported Case Management (SCM), PSTP Graduate and Reentry Permanent Housing.

 

Overall Responsibilities:

Under the general direction of the SR. Director of Forensic Services, the Program Director is responsible for providing clinical and administrative oversight and staff support to a team of the SCM, ICMs, SCMs and  HCs.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential duties of the Program Director include but are not limited to the following activities:

  • Provides direct clinical supervision to the senior case managers, intensive case managers, supportive case managers and housing counselors.
  • Conducts ongoing assessment of staff training needs and facilitates access to appropriate trainings
  • Collaborates with the Sr. Director of Forensic Services to monitor the quality of client care through regular supervision and chart reviews.
  • Participates in regular chart reviews and collaborates with PEQA staff to ensure that QA recommendations are implemented.
  • Monitors and ensures timely completion of all required statistical reporting.
  • Co-facilitates and/or leads weekly case conferences for the PSTP and PSTP Expansion Programs.
  • Participates in weekly community meetings with clients.
  • Builds and maintains strong connections with both local and state service providers.
  • Collaborates with the Sr. Director of Forensic Services to implement and enforce policies/procedures that adhere to PRI internal standards and monitoring agency requirements.
  • Shares 24-hour on-call coverage with the Director of Forensic Services.
  • Acts as a key point person in communicating the program perspective/concerns with parole.
  • Collaborate with Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) to ensure accurate and timely submissions are entered in the AOT portal.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field is required. 
  • Master’s degree (MSW, or similar) is preferred. 
  • 4 years of experience collaborating with individuals with substance use and mental health issues and working directly with formerly incarcerated.
  • 4 years of required managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong leadership skills, including outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Understanding of finances, systems, and human resources, especially as it impacts programs.
  • Demonstrated capacity for project management.
  • Ability to work well in a highly pressured environment.
  • Ability to interface with clients as well as all levels of staff.
  • Sensitivity to community issues and needs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; and knowledge of case management software.
  • Bilingual or multilingual a plus
  • Possession of a valid NYS Driver’s license, preferably
