Electrical Engineering Discipline Leader
We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Discipline Leader (DL) who will be integral in advancing the discipline and its contributions to the overall success of the firm. In this influential role, you are responsible for developing talent, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of mentorship within the engineering team. Your expertise will guide the adoption of advanced technologies and best practices, ensuring the continuation of our industry-leading electrical engineering services, which include power, lighting, and low voltage.
The DL is a leadership role, not production, with significant breadth. It allows you to have a hand in many projects and directly influence team success, innovation, and quality. You shape the future of our engineering practice through design direction, developing teams, quality excellence, and driving innovation.
The five main areas of focus for this role include:
- Grow and Retain Talent: Develop and support team members, ensuring their growth and professional success.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with other leaders to align on best practices, resource allocation, and maintain a strong organizational culture.
- Elevate Standards: Lead initiatives to improve quality, continue developing standards, and optimize processes.
- Be Forward-Thinking: Guide the discipline in adopting emerging technologies and staying ahead of industry trends.
- Support Business Development: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support business development efforts and expand client relationships.
Delivering Results
- Teach, coach, and mentor team members, promoting professional growth and ensuring high technical performance.
- Set the stage for early design options and input through your high-level engineering proficiency, leading integration practices with our full-service team of architects, designers, and engineers.
- Collaborate closely with Practice Leaders and clients to gain insight into project objectives, delivering exceptional and tailored solutions.
- Drive and implement robust quality control processes to ensure every deliverable is technically accurate and efficient.
- Investigate and integrate emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance our design approaches and maintain our competitive edge.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree a plus.
- An active Professional Engineering (P.E.) license.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, specifically within the Architecture & Engineering (A&E) industry.
- Demonstrated track record of leading and mentoring teams and managing complex, large-scale projects successfully.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, along with a strong understanding of industry standards and codes.
- Advanced engineering methodologies expertise.
- Proven ability to build lasting relationships that create opportunities with both established and prospective clients.
