Description:

 

Project Quality

  • Lead and assign tasks for site data gathering and software model development for power system studies (3%)
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to interns, Graduate Electrical Engineers and Electrical Engineer I team members. (3%)
  • Coordinate project tasks with in-house disciplines and outside consultants. (23%)
  • Assign presentation and production tasks.  Oversee and check work of junior team. (20%)
  • Develop and coordinate all specifications with electrical production documents for advanced projects (20%)
  • Assess and coordinate workload to complete multiple work tasks within project schedule for multiple projects simultaneously. (3%)
  • Oversee, review and seal production documents and work of others as well as documents within competency level. (3%)
  • Lead coordination with affected disciplines that have any addendum requests for information, change proposal requests, and/or change orders and is responsible to incorporate agreed upon changes into the project documents. (3%)
  • Lead work sessions, field investigations and/or meetings at project sites in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines for basic projects. (3%)
  • Establish and lead meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance (3%)
  • Advanced construction administration activities such as RFIs, shop drawings submittals and clarifications with minimal supervision. (3%)

 

Financial

  • Oversee, assign and produce contract documents and tasks that are efficient and consistent with the scope of work, schedule, and fee allotted to complete the work (2%)
  • Develop solutions when inconsistencies occur as they relate to design and documentation (2%)
  • Developing budget and schedule for projects (3%)
  • Develop and assign control strategies for project budget overruns (3%)

 

  • Work Schedule:  Mon – Fri / 8am to 5pm; Required in office 3 days per week with 2 days hybrid optional

 

Requirements:                       

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related AND 4 years’ experience as Graduate Electrical Engineer, Electrical Design Engineer, or related.

 

Applicants must have 4 years’ experience with the following market sectors:

 

  • Logistics.
  • Automotive
  • Online Retail
  • Prototype Design

 

Applicants must have demonstrative experience with the following:

 

  • Power Distribution Design for large and complex projects including:
    • transformer sizing,
    • feeder and branch circuit sizing,
    • protective device sizing and selection,
    • panel layout and design,
    • short circuit calculations,
    • voltage drop calculations.
  • Lighting Design for large and complex projects including:
    • normal lighting,
    • emergency lighting,
    • lighting selection,
    • lighting controls
    • energy saving strategies. 
  • Revit and Elum Tools, or other comparable lighting design software 
  • National, Regional and Local code requirements for electrical design, including:
    • NFPA (National Fire Production Association) requirements for electrical design and installations.
  • Performing Arc Flash Studies utilizing Easy Power or SKM Power Tools.
  • Designing equipment for environmental applications, Classification/Division applications and hazardous location installations.
  • Oversight and mentoring of junior staff.

 

License:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer with the ability to obtain reciprocity in all US States.
