Survey/Civil Engineering Technician I
Make an Impact
As a Survey/Civil Engineering Technician I, you will develop survey drawings, write easements, and assist with Civil Engineering site development plans. You will utilize your skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D to complete various CAD drafting projects in Civil Engineering and Surveying. You will also participate in occasional surveying field work.
Deliver Results
- Assist Senior Surveyors with survey drawing preparation using AutoCAD Civil 3D in accordance with Progressive Companies drafting standards. Survey drawing preparation may include ALTA surveys, boundary surveys or topographic surveys.
- Assist in checking submittals, issuing addenda and construction change directives. Prepare Construction Permitting documents.
- Organize construction document sets from beginning to end with direction. Produce preliminary concepts with oversite and full design phase deliverables including drawings and quantity take-offs.
- Translate mark-ups into working drawings, review for completeness, and submit to the Senior Surveyor or Senior Engineer for approval. Regularly communicate and coordinate with the Senior Surveyor or Senior Engineer to understand any changes to project design, scope, schedule, and budget.
- Assist in field data gathering for land surveying as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of technical and survey or construction documentation experience in the profession.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Drafting/Design/Surveying/Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or technical school or equivalent in education and experience.
- Experience in uploading and downloading survey data from data collectors.
- Experience in Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and Teams.
