HB Bar Porter
Primary Responsibilities: Act as a utility person at the bar and assists the bartender/cashier as required in keeping supplies and equipment ready, services guests, etc. Knowledgeable in County liquor regulations. Relieve bartender/cashier. Service guests courteously and efficiently. Keep the bar, storeroom and work area clean and organized. Maintain the proper par stock of garnishes, juices glasses, etc. Prepare garnishes, mixes and juices for drinks. Consistently perform tasks as specified on sequence of service standards and SOPs.

Essential Duties:

  1. Receive and properly store liquor, beer and wine.
  2. Deliver beverage requisitions to bartenders, cart attendants, etc. and fill orders when needed
  3. Report any discrepancies in requisitions or inventory.
  4. Prepare, restock and set-up bar for opening.
  5. Clean bar storage area, equipment and countertop.
  6. Relieve and perform the duties of a bartender/cashier when required.
  7. Assist bartender in welcoming guests, taking beverage orders, mixing and serving drinks.
  8. Follow County regulations and hotel policies in serving alcoholic beverages.
  9. Able to relieve and perform duties of a bartender
  10. Complete work assignments in a timely manner
  11. Consistently perform tasks as specified on sequence of service standards and SOPs.
  12. Assist in inventory.
  13. Clean storeroom.
  14. Rotate stock.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Other Duties:

  1. Converse with guests in a courteous and respectful manner.
  2. Cut garnishes for drinks.
  3. Recommend the resort’s restaurants and facilities to guests.
  4. Make mixes/juices for drinks

Working Conditions:

  1. Indoors in a storeroom.
  2. Indoors or outdoors in various weather conditions, depending on the location of the bar.

Work Hours:

  1. Able to work shift and days determined by manager
  2. Able to work more than 40 hours per week when needed

Equipment Use:

  1. Resort’s POS system.
  2. Bartender tools; knife, bar spoon, muddler, shaker, citrus wedge squeezer, ice pick, wine opener, bottle opener, can puncher, bottle spouts.
  3. Blender, glass chiller, cc machine, refrigerator, glass washer, ice machine.
  4. Handtruck, cart
  5. Telephone

Mental and Physical Demands:

  1. Able to prioritize and organize workload and multi-task.
  2. Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop and reach during most of shift.
  3. Reach in/out of cold refrigerators, ice machine.
  4. Hands in/out of water with dishwashing soap when assisting behind the bar.
  5. Lift and carry up to and over 50 lbs.
  6. Push and pull up to and over 50 lbs.
  7. Able to manage stressful and challenging situations when dealing with irate guests.

Communication Demands:

  1. Able to communicate verbally to employees, managers and guests.
  2. Able to communicate over the phone.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  1. Able to read and write to do job duties
  2. Department of Health TB Clearance
  3. Must be at least 18 years of age
  4. Liquor Commission card preferred, or acquired within 30 days after hire
  5. Must be able to Multi-Task
