Role: Donations Coordinator

Reports to: Community and Corporate Relationships Manager

Program: 7000 - Development

Department: Development

Location: Arlington Administration - 2116 Arlington Ave., Suite 100, Los Angeles, CA 90018

Setting: Not 100% Onsite, Travel between sites required

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Status: Full-time/Non-Exempt/Non-Management

SUMMARY:

As a core member of the Development Team, the Donations Coordinator will report to the Community and Corporate Relationships Manager (CCRM) and will also take direction from the Director of Development and the Chief Executive Officer. They will be responsible for helping to strengthen and maintain our in-kind donation portfolio as well as coordinate the corresponding daily activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate all in‐kind donations, including evaluating policy and best practices
  • Inventory donations and coordinate distribution, draft and send timely thank you letters
  • Be the on site contact for all in-kind donations
  • Enter relevant data in Raisers Edge for all in‐kind donations (includes sack lunches, toiletries, drives etc.) keeping Community and Corporate Relationships team updated and looping appropriate Development staff in where needed. Generate acknowledgement letters for donors
  • Share info and photos of in-kind donations and activities with Marketing & Communications Coordinators for public acknowledgment
  • Coordinate Shelter Partnership orders, deliveries and receipting process
  • Assist with producing donor acknowledgment letters, tribute cards, and other donor correspondence
  • Provide on-going support to the Database Operations Manager; assist with gift processing, enforcing data hygiene, and generating gift reports in Raiser’s Edge
  • Other Duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s license, reliable car, auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record.
  • A passion for connecting philanthropists with high impact opportunities to help the most vulnerable in their communities
  • Detail oriented with strong time management, organizational, written, verbal, interpersonal, and computer skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Computer literate; able to effectively use computerized database, with demonstrable skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel programs
  • Proficient in the use of the Internet and social media tools
  • Able to work some evenings and weekends for special events and meetings as requested
  • Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge, Volgistics, and/or other donor management system preferred
  • Able to travel between Westside and downtown Los Angeles as work requires

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience working in Development at a nonprofit organization, preferred; experience with data entry preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required; knowledge of Raiser's Edge or similar fundraising database preferred

 

Work Environment:

  • Combination of field and office environment
  • Travel between agency locations, and external locations, up to 100%.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend; occasionally lift or carry up to 35 lbs.
  • On occasion walk or drive to different local sites
  • Will necessitate working in busy and loud environments
  • Will be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise and odor
  • May need to bend, stoop, twist, and sit throughout the day
