Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Summary:
The Safety Generalist will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth onboarding and daily safety operations across the company. You will be responsible for a wide range of Safety functions including onboarding aspects, data entry, reporting, administrative duties with regards to internal and external system updates, safety training, NEO safety presentation, conduct safety audits, be on-site reviewer of safety practices and incidents at times, compliance, and more. Will be tasked with reviewing invoices, guard liaison, vehicle repair coordination and ensuring updates and issues are known with the DMV.

This position requires a highly organized, people-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment with excellent customer service skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
a. Must own the role and functions within their scope and be willing to assist where needed.
b. Excellent file organization and will be trusted to move quickly through vast projects of updates to vehicles, training, data entry, report running, invoice review and preparation, scanning, filing etc.
c. Knowledge of paper and electronic filing systems, and must be able to use HRIS Day force and other programs at a highly efficient level
d. Will often need to use and organize using excel, outlook, calendars, and other software and office equipment.
e. Presenting for NEO in Safety, and any other NEO/PLO/PLA capacity is required (will not be asked to bear the full load of NEO and other trainings often, but must be familiar and capable). Great people skills and phone skills are necessary and will be asked to fill in as receptionist at times.
f. Will have access to confidential information and must become dependable with a respect to confidentiality and policies and creation/editing of such.
g. Will be asked to liaison with GVS and other guard programs as assigned. Will need to review invoices, review safety issues, recommend replacing guards etc as needed.
h. Will need to be familiar with OSHA practices, guidelines and responses required along with OSHA overall reporting for 300A and other logs. Reporting, compliance and completion of these logs will be a team effort.
i. Knowledge and ongoing learning of best practices of Safety, and Workplace Violence programs will be needed.
j. Data entry, responding to emails in a timely manner and responding to COVID/illness related absences will be heavy aspects of the role. Will need to schedule and coordinate vehicle estimation and repair.

Qualifications:
1. High School diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
2. Minimum two years’ work experience in a Safety Administrative capacity is required.
3. Knowledge of or ability to learn to work with our databases and systems, including DMV, Report creations, Sharepoint, Dayforce, DynaFile, Relias, and DocuSign preferred
4. Excellent attention to detail.
5. Able to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment in sensitive situations.
6. Able to be precise, thorough, and detail-oriented.
7. Able to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities and meet deadlines.
8. Strong organizational and written and verbal communication skills.
9. Exceptional customer service orientation.
10. Basic skill in math.
11. Must be able to work in-office in the Arlington HQ at least 5 days a week.
12. Able to demonstrate proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Outlook and Word.
13. Minimum 40 WPM+ typing/data entry speed required.
14. Able to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
15. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
16. Willingness to train and continuously improve skills.
17. Ability to be adaptable in a high stress environment
18. Willing to collaborate take direction for the purpose of meeting company goal.
19. Ability to drive to sites in OSHA/Workplace Violence/Injury events where on-site inspection and assistance will be helpful. This will not entail every/most injury situations.
20. Must travel to at least 6 non-HQ sites per calendar year to do a personal safety inspection, rotating between our many sites as possible to continually provide Safety Team presence at new and neglected sites.

Work Environment:
1. Primarily indoor office environment.
2. On occasion drive or transit to different local sites.
3. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and occasionally lift or carry up to 15 pounds.
4. May necessitate working in busy and loud environments.
5. May be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise, and odor.
6. May need to bend, stoop, twist, and sit throughout the day.
