The Youth Gymnastics Instructor is responsible for providing gymnastics activities and lessons in a safe, caring, secure and effective manner for children ages 2 and up. Gymnastics Instructors should lead by example in areas such as punctuality, responsibility, motivation, and professionalism.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering enjoyable, structured and well-planned gymnastics activities and lessons.
- Building relationships and showing with gymnasts how to practice and exercise.
- Choreographing and directing gymnastics routines for end of session exhibition for all age levels.
- Explaining and demonstrating gymnastic techniques and methods.
- Teaching the history of gymnastics.
- Controlling groups of gymnasts and when required disciplining them.
- Monitor gymnasts’ progress, give parents updates.
- Set-up studio and return space to neat state upon completion of class.
- Accurately complete all administrative duties relating to gymnastics classes (i.e. timesheets, student evaluations/placements, recital forms, etc.)
- Attend staff meetings as required.
- Report injuries and complete required forms.
- Immediately notify a Supervisor of any broken equipment or unsafe aspects of studio space.
- Demonstrate complete knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and confidence communicating with EMS.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years gymnastics/dance experienced preferred
- Displays exceptional interpersonal skills and a high level of customer service
- Displays excellent problem solving skills and initiative
- Must possess patience, a positive attitude, and ability to work well with others
- Willing to work flexible hours
- Regular attendance and punctuality
