The Youth Gymnastics Instructor is responsible for providing gymnastics activities and lessons in a safe, caring, secure and effective manner for children ages 2 and up. Gymnastics Instructors should lead by example in areas such as punctuality, responsibility, motivation, and professionalism.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Planning and delivering enjoyable, structured and well-planned gymnastics activities and lessons.
2. Building relationships and showing with gymnasts how to practice and exercise.
3. Choreographing and directing gymnastics routines for end of session exhibition for all age levels.
4. Explaining and demonstrating gymnastic techniques and methods.
5. Teaching the history of gymnastics.
6. Controlling groups of gymnasts and when required disciplining them.
7. Monitor gymnasts’ progress, give parents updates.
8. Set-up studio and return space to neat state upon completion of class.
9. Accurately complete all administrative duties relating to gymnastics classes (i.e. timesheets, student evaluations/placements, recital forms, etc.)
10. Attend staff meetings as required.
11. Report injuries and complete required forms.
12. Immediately notify a Supervisor of any broken equipment or unsafe aspects of studio space.
13. Demonstrate complete knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and confidence communicating with EMS.
14. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years gymnastics/dance experienced preferred
• Displays exceptional interpersonal skills and a high level of customer service
• Displays excellent problem solving skills and initiative
• Must possess patience, a positive attitude, and ability to work well with others
• Willing to work flexible hours
• Regular attendance and punctuality
