We are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to preserve the condition and functionality of our workforce housing property in Freeport, TX. You will perform a great variety of maintenance tasks such as painting, landscaping and HVAC repairs. To be successful in this role you are professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. We’re seeking a dependable, hardworking team player with a positive, can-do attitude. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong emotional intelligence, respect for colleagues, and a commitment to punctuality. Additionally, they should be able to work autonomously and responsibly, adhering to all health and safety guidelines. Your primary goal will be to maintain the buildings and common areas to the highest standards, ensuring the quality our customers value most 

Pay range: DOE (Depending on Experience)

In this role you will:

 

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to our guests and your co-workers
  • Work with the Maintenance Manager and/or Lead Maintenance Techs for completing various daily assignments
  • Work throughout the property on cleaning and maintenance projects
  • Perform high quality general maintenance and repairs to the interior/exterior of buildings and property:
    • Perform basic and intermediate carpentry tasks
    • Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs
    • Perform plumbing troubleshooting and repairs
    • Perform drywall and painting repairs
    • Report any major repair needs to the Maintenance Manager
  • Maintain public spaces and working areas in a safe, clean, and organized manner
  • Respond to service calls in modular Studio units for guests, as needed
  • Perform grounds maintenance to include mowing, weed-eating, spraying and pressure washing
  • Learn through on-the-job training additional maintenance skills taught by qualified personnel

 

Requirements Skills/Qualification:

  • Self-starter with requisite experience working as a lead or foreman with limited to no supervision is a plus
  • Any construction, landscape or general maintenance experience is a plus
  • Above average knowledge of electrical, plumbing and general repair experience and skills
  • Knowledge of hand tools, power tools and techniques for their care and safe use
  • Provide and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record per Company standards
  • Successfully pass a required pre-employment drug test administered by a qualified clinic
  • Strong desire to provide outstanding customer service

 

Physical Requirement:

  • Climbing up and down on ladders and equipment
  • Ability to work on hard floors and uneven surfaces for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to lift 70 pounds alone and carry a minimum of 25 pounds consistently up to 250 feet unassisted
  • Work in all weather conditions
  • Able to walk, stand, climb, kneel, reach, crawl, push, pull and twist most of the day
  • Operate a variety of handheld power tools and equipment
  • Wear personal protective equipment 
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours per work week and up to 12 hours per day
  • Must be able and willing to work weekends and/or evenings
