Hybrid Field Service Technician
Our team in Portland is looking for a Hybrid Field Service Technician. This is a field position and a shop position. When you are not in the field you will take on the role of a shop service tech level 2-3. We are looking for a skilled repair person to undertake the upkeep and repair of mobile office units, both interior and exterior within our Portland territory. We’ll rely on you to meet our quality standards for units to maintain the customer satisfaction that we strive for. In this role you will be doing electrical and plumbing troubleshooting and repair along with carpentry work. Your goal is to drive service success that ensures customer satisfaction, maximizes customer retention, and increases profitability. To be successful, masterful hands and knowledge of the trades are an important part of your skillet. You must be well-organized with strong general repair skills. A keen eye for detail and self-motivation are also key for being successful in this role.
Pay range: $28.44 per hour DOE

Field Service Job Description:
• Hours: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday through Friday or as determined by Management
• Perform Long Term Maintenance and service calls on Mobile Offices at customer sites
• General repairs to mobile office units using carpentry and other skills relevant to the task
• Install/remove counter tops, plan tables and movable partition system
• Perform electrical troubleshooting in mobile/modular units
• HVAC maintenance and repair of electrical components
• Perform basic plumbing in mobile and modular units
• Install security items such as deadbolts, latch guards, and security bars
• Keep yard and working areas in a clean, working order
• Relevel mobile units and assemble entry systems as needed
• Complete daily tasks as assigned by Management
Service Technician 2-3 Job Description:
• Successfully completing duties on Lease Unit Check-In Form and Inbound Preventative Maintenance Form
• Ability to patch and repair composition, metal, and rubber roofing
• Ability to patch and repair interior wall covering, ceilings, and flooring
• Ability to train new hires in Tech 1 responsibilities
• Removing and replacing exterior doors (prehung, knock down, welded) and interior doors (prehung, knock down, mod wall)
• Handling entry levers, deadbolts, door hardware, and windows (vinyl & aluminum)
• Removing and replacing lighting components, electrical outlets, load centers, and plumbing fixtures
• Managing restroom fixtures, flooring, HVAC components and axles (hubs & bearings, brake & brake wiring, axle install, hitch install & removal)
• Handling interior and exterior wall coverings, roofing repairs, T-grid removal & replacement, and load-out of complexes
• Assisting with lot set-up of mobile and modular units
• Mobile office unit refurbishments and restoration to original configurations
• Custom modifications to customer specifications
• Installing new exterior doors, windows, and security hardware
• Identifying and remediating all types of dry rot
• Installation of entry levers, deadbolts, panic bars, closures, and door accessories
• Understanding and interpreting factory drawings and schematics
• Repairs or replacement of interior wall coverings, tee grid ceilings, and VCT/carpet tiles
• Inspecting and repairing mobile office chassis and running gear
• Mentoring and training junior Service Technicians
• Loading and unloading mobile office units with foundation materials and entry systems
• Completing training for powered yard equipment
Skills/Qualifications:
- 2+ years verifiable experience working as a Carpenter, Foreman, or Field/Customer Service representative with limited to no supervision
- HVAC diagnostic and repair
- Plumbing and electrical troubleshooting and repair
- Working knowledge of mechanical electric control systems
- Strong customer service skills
- General knowledge of power tools and techniques for care and safe use
- Provide an acceptable driver’s abstract and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record per Pacific Mobile standards is required
Physical Requirements:
- Climbing up and down on ladders and equipment
- Ability to work on concrete floors and uneven surfaces for up to 8 hours
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to pick-up a minimum of 25 pounds consistently and carry up to 250 feet unassisted
- Work outside in all weather conditions
- Operate handheld power tools
- Wear personal protective equipment
- Ability to work more than 40 hours per work week and up to 12 hours per day
