Human Resource Business Partner
The HR Business Partner, in support of the SR HR Manager, will support the daily HR functions of Piping Rock’s Nevada facilities and California retail locations. They will assist the Sr HR Manager while partnering with leadership in all associate-related matters such as benefits, associate relations, leave administration, talent acquisition, onboarding and offboarding, the performance evaluation and performance improvement processes, new hire/associate data change maintenance within the HRIS, and enforcing and complying with company policies and practices and federal, state, and local laws.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with onboarding new hires by facilitating new hire orientation on a weekly basis, coordinating with Talent Acquisition for new hire planning and collection of new hire documents, and creation of associate badges.
- Respond to all general associate inquiries regarding benefits, policies, procedures, and programs and escalate inquiries to SR HR Manager as appropriate.
- Attend and participate in associate disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, as well as coach managers on how to write reviews and provide constructive feedback, advisement of employee leaves and accommodations, and more nuanced issues with the guidance of HR leadership team members
- Conduct exit interviews.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; assist with review of policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Contribute to the HR team to develop key HR policies and practices
- Track and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, including safety training, anti-harassment training, and more.
- Act as an extension of the Talent Acquisition team by filling Nevada and California-based open positions when needed; this includes collaborating with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings, posting positions on job boards and local organization’s sites, interviewing qualified candidates, and providing feedback to hiring managers, and follow-through with offers, pre-employment testing and onboarding.
- Assist the SR HR Manager with associate engagement event planning and coordination to help foster positive morale and a strong work culture among the associate population.
- Establish relationships with community partners and coordinate onsite and offsite volunteer events for associates.
- Support the HR department with projects and initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in Human Resources or related work
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field a plus
- Demonstrated skills working in a client facing role in a production environment preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to stay poised under pressure and demonstrated strong judgement
- Can multi-task and is highly organized
- Highly collaborative and self-motivated
- Experience in dynamic, fast-paced environments
- Comfortable with a multi-site structure
- Ability to travel to engagement events a plus
- Bilingual in both English and Spanish is a plus.
- Excellent time management skills and prioritization skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work flexible hours on occasion to allow for shift coverage when needed for meetings and events.
