Your Impact:
The Program Director for Gymnastics is expected to support, develop, manage and implement the overall strategy for delivering programs and services that are responsive to member and participant needs (administration 15 hours per week). The Program Director of Gymnastics will be expected to Coach at Level 8-10 and above (25 hours per week), manage, develop, implement, and enhance programs for youth gymnastics and camps. Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and assists with the promotion and administration of all Gymnastics Camp programs. Assists with the management of all aspects of the Gymnastics Camp facility to promote a clean, safe, and friendly environment. Recruit members to volunteer for program delivery and develop and maintain relationships with volunteers for the operation of above-mentioned programs. Work to establish a consistent presence in the YMCA’s service region, including a connection with the surrounding area school districts.

What Qualifications You'll Need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Recreation or related field with 3 years of working with youth and 3 yrs. of camp experience.
- Experience in staff supervision, committees and in providing leadership to groups.
- Proven success in developing and managing youth programs.
- Ability to operate PC, use spreadsheets, word processing and related software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Exhibit strong leadership skills; possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence
- Strong knowledge of gymnastics and competitions including experience at the National state and/ or national level.
- Acquire and maintain nationally recognized certifications in teaching gymnastics
- USAG Safety Certification for competitions preferred
- Ability to physically assist (spot) the gymnast through skills with a clear understanding of developing the athlete.
What You'll Do:
- Under the Direction of the Senior Program Director-Gymnastics develop and deliver high quality gymnastic Coaching and Instruction that meet the needs of the community. Ensure quality program delivery and effective use of resources including staff, volunteers, and equipment within an established budget.
- Provides direct leadership to teach, coach and lead programs and services as appropriately assigned. Approximately 25 hours a week Coaching at Level 8-10 and above and 15 hours of Administration support.
- Design and implement training programs for gymnasts at USA Gymnastics competitive levels 8 through 10, ensuring that each athlete has the opportunity to reach their highest potential.
- Provide coaching for both compulsory and optional levels, demonstrating a deep understanding of the requirements and standards of each.
- Monitor the gymnasium and ensure appropriate behavior is being displayed in accordance with YMCA standards.
- Under the Direction of the Senior Program Director-Gymnastics recruit, train, supervise and develop staff and volunteers to conduct programs and services. Prepare descriptions, establish standards, and monitor programs. Plan and conduct Camp staff training at the beginning of camp and ongoing meetings and necessary training to keep staff informed and certifications current.
- Under the Direction of the Senior Program Director-Gymnastics create staff schedules, monitor time sheets, complete payroll, and be accountable for departmental budget relating to staff salaries.
- Under the Direction of the Senior Program Director-Gymnastics coordinate and administer all aspects of program registration, promotion, open houses, and communications.
- Awareness and knowledge of DHS regulatory standards regarding licensing, staff/child ratios and program delivery.
- Awareness and knowledge of YMCA Camp programs, procedures, and policies.
- Be responsible for documentation to include daily and weekly rosters, status of registration, weekly statistics, parent newsletters, all third-party payments for Camp.
- Conduct daily evaluation of equipment and facilities to be used for all programs. Follow up on all safety and cleanliness related issues.
- Develop positive relationships with parents and families of all program participants.
- Participate in weekly meetings with core staff to communicate program successes and shortcomings and to develop plans to address the identified needs.
