Accounting Intern - Summer 2025

With offices in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Ohio, Pepper Construction is a national general contracting and construction management firm that primarily serves the private sector. Pepper Construction provides clients the experience and resources of a national company, combined with the hands-on approach of a local company.

Pepper Construction Company of Indiana is looking for a qualified, intelligent student with a passion for accounting to be a summer intern. The Accounting Internship offers overall exposure to all aspects of the financial group with focus on project specific accounting duties with a national general contractor.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review owner contracts and identify contractual terms for billing purposes
• Analyze and process job related costs in accordance with internal control procedures
• Coordinate the billing process with the project team
• Understand impact of cash flows on projects billed
• Internal controls
• A/P, A/R, and cash processing
• General ledger reconciliations
• Assist with waiver collection and subcontractor payments

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Current college student in their Sophomore, Junior or Senior year studying Accounting or similar discipline with relevant coursework (required)
• Good communication skills
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in all applications of Microsoft Office
• Ability to both collaborate with a diverse group of people and work independently on deadline-driven projects
• Ability to listen and follow specific direction on some tasks and willing to take initiative and ownership of the process on other assignments
• Organized and able to multi-task and manage changing priorities
