Are you a current college student majoring in Human Resources? If so, Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is looking to hire a summer HR intern for their executive office building in Lake Forest, IL. This opportunity will provide some practical HR responsibilities with a concentration in benefits.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Your primary role will be to support the VP of Benefits and the entire team by assisting with a variety of assignments and projects.
  • You will also interact with other Corporate HR staff members in retirement, health & welfare and leave of absence.
  • You will need to take diligent notes throughout the internship on experiences and projects to give a presentation at the end of the summer to the Benefits team.

 

Educational Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Must be a currently enrolled college student majoring in Human Resources or a related field and have completed their sophomore year.
  • A minimum grade point average of 3.0/ 4.0 is required and you must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • This is a full-time position, Monday – Friday, 8:00 – 4:00pm.
  • This position is hybrid with 3 days a week in the Lake Forest corporate office.

 

Abilities/Skills: 

  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and enjoys a systematic approach to problem solving.
  • Time management skills necessary to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Candidate must display maturity and a high level of professionalism.
  • Contribute efforts independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word is required.
