Job Summary:
The ReceiverClerk is responsible for receivinginventories, storing and restocking merchandise displays in the store, anddelivering excellent customer service.In addition, the Receiver Clerk is accountablefor maintaining backroom and receiving area conditions and practices to maximize store profitability.
Essential Functions of the Position:

Enforcestore operating hours for receiving according to company policy.

Control the flow of vendor traffic through receiving.
-
Receive all merchandise and process all credits according to company procedures.
-
Break down deliveries and move items to the appropriate location.
-
Stock and clean shelves, storage areas, and frozenand dairy cases.
-
Display new or transferred merchandise and face shelves throughout the store.
-
Maintain back stock in good order.
-
Verify invoices for accurate billing and maintain inventory control.
-
Address discrepancies and shortages ininvoice documentation according to company procedures.
-
Control receiving, Direct Store Delivery (DSD), credits, and monitor all DSD deliveries.
-
Interact with salespeople for efficient coordination.
-
Followall safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.
-
Operatewarehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and barcode scanners safely and efficiently.
-
Completenecessary paperwork, such as receiving reports, inventory logs, and damage reports, and communicating with management regarding inventory issues.

Monitor for and report any theft, damage, or loss of inventory and takesteps to minimize shrinkage.

Monitor store conditions and reportareas of concern to store management promptly.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge:

Understanding of inventory systems and procedures.

Familiarity with standard warehouse practices, safety protocols, and equipment.

Awareness of grocery products and categories to handle and store items correctly.

Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and other relevant health and safety regulations.

Understandprocedures for receiving, inspecting, and stocking goodsandpreparing items for shipment.
Skills:

Precision in checking and recording inventory, ensuring accuracy in stock levels and documentation.

Proficiency in using inventory management software, barcode scanners, and other warehouse technologies.

Effective verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with other staff and managing documentation.
Abilities:

Ability to maintain organized storage areas and manage inventory efficiently.

Ability to identify and resolve issues related to inventory discrepancies or storage problems.

Efficiently managing time to complete tasks within deadlines, especially during busy periods.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle various tasks as needed.
Physical Requirements:

Stand and walk for extended periods, typically 8-hour shifts.

Lift and carry items up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Perform repetitive motions such as reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, and handling products.

Climbing ladders to perform warehousetasks at elevated heights.

Maintain clear communication with customers and team members.

Move quickly and efficiently to assist customers and manage workload.

Maintain physical stamina to work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to perform tasks that require fine motor skills, such as using tools or handling small objects.

Work Conditions:

Work Hours: Vary, with availability required on weekends, evenings, and holidays; typically, 8-hour shifts for full-time employees.

Environment: Indoor, climate-controlled,with adequate lighting and ventilation.

Primary Work Stations: Work within the grocery store environments, which include various sections such as the sales floor, backrooms, and exterior areas.

Dress Code: Professional and presentable attire as determined by store management, including a name tag, company-issued shirts, hats, jackets, or personal shirts that are black, burgundy, or blue, in good repair,and not faded.

Exposure: May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and cleaning chemicals.

Noise Level: Usually low to moderate, with occasional loud periods from customers, store announcements, and equipment.

Interaction: Constant interaction with customers and team members in a fast-paced retail environment.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Groceryor WarehouseClerk experience is preferred.

Complete the company’s OSHA-accreditedforklift training.
