Must possess current state cosmetology or manicurist license.

Qualified to perform all aspects of nail care (standard manicures, French manicures, tips & wraps, nail repair, acrylic nail application/repair, pedicures, foot/hand massage, paraffin treatments) using current techniques.

Minimum 3 years experience as a nail technician.

Must demonstrate knowledge of current trends in nail care.

Ability to work a flexible workweek including weekends and holidays.

Excellent people skills.

Ability to direct and manage people.

Must possess good communication skills (both written and oral) and make the guests feel comfortable during treatment.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as memos, communication log, safety rules, operating and procedure manuals, reservation print-outs.

Ability to interact and understand clients and employees of varied ethnic and educational backgrounds.

Ability to write routine correspondence, request reports and paper work responsibilities.

Ability to develop add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate percentages and fractions.

Fluency in a foreign language, preferably Spanish.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Attend weekly and monthly spa operations meetings.

Perform nail treatments at the spa.
-
Perform all nail treatments according to protocol, in accordance with the accepted industry practices and shall conform to the rules and regulations of the spa, established by the company.

Maintain a well-stocked and clean treatment environment (treatment area, locker rooms).
-
Promote the spa and all services and programs.
-
Lead by example and be an effective role model for guests.
-
Perform additional duties as requested by Lead Esthetician, Treatment Manager or resort management.
-
Have knowledge of special events taking place in the spa as well as the local area.
-
Know the details of how each department in the spa operates as well as who the managers are.
-
Know any departmental policies, which affect the spa and scheduling area.
-
Demonstrate knowledge of property’s style, practices, culture, terminology, organizational structure, and general philosophy. That Philosophy should be portrayed in the professional appearance, behavior, integrity, and openness to guest and fellow employees.

Properly educate guests in regards to nail care and fill out a prescription card for each service given.

Read and adhere to scheduled postings in regard to shifts and room assignments.

Exhibit property use of product and abide by all product control guidelines.
-
Be aware of appearance, promptness with appointments, quality of work and attitudes with guests.

Use computer system as dictated by company.
-
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
-
Attend trainings for protocol and nail care product knowledge and meetings.
-
Begin services at the time appointments are scheduled, and perform all services within the time frame established for each service given.

Wear proper uniform and maintain a high standard in regards to personal appearance as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

At no time will the solicitation of gratuities be tolerated.
-
Have the ability to reason and determine when to terminate a service in the event it becomes unprofessional and/or uncomfortable for either party.

Arrive at your work area at time listed on schedule.

Come to work as scheduled.

Use telephone procedures as dictated by company.

Report unsafe conditions to management.

Fill out a maintenance request for equipment in need of repair.

Report accidents immediately to Treatment Manager or the Spa Director.

Respect guest confidentiality.

Evaluate guest needs.

Sanitize equipment after each guest.
The pay for this position is $16.50/hour. Plus gratuities.
