Salary Range: $15.59-$19.00 per hour based on certified years of experience.

Job Summary:
The Dental Assistant assists dentists with the treatment of patients and the completion of dental procedure. The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing the treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the New York State Dental Practice Act.
Essential Job Duties:
- Assisting in the completion of dental procedures and maintenance of dental operatory in a manner consistent with practice standard and infection control requirements.
- Patient care including but not limited to medical histories, charting, patient education
- Keep accurate and complete patient records
- Practicing four handed dentistry by performing tasks such as suctioning saliva, providing instruments or curing light during dental procedures
- Taking dental x-rays in accordance with section 3515(4)(c) of the Public Health Law and section 89.45 of the Administrative Rules and Regulations for Public Health
- Maintain DOH, OSHA, Aseptic Technique, HIPPA according to compliance and company protocol
- Pour and trim stone study models
- Preparing the patient treatment room by seating patients, obtaining records and applying protective garb
- Preparing instruments, materials and medicaments to be used for appropriate procedures
- Decontaminating and Sterilization of instruments and set up/break down operatory
- Daily schedule review and development. May require calling patients
- Assist in ordering supplies
- Maintain operatories are stocked daily i.e. gloves, masks, water bottles filled, gauze etc…
- Put supplies away in a timely manner
- Assist in them maintenance of all dental instruments and equipment
- Identify and dispose of all expired dental materials
- Assist in all required duties of sterilization to ensure instruments are sterilized in a timely manner
- Performs all duties as assigned by supervisor.

- High School Diploma/GED
- BLS (CPR) certification

The overall nature of the position is sedentary requiring little physical effort with occasional light physical exertion required. There is little, if any, exposure to environmental conditions
