Maintenance Berlin - Maintenance Mechanic

Immediate Opening:  Maintenance  / Mechanic, First Shift - 7:00 am – 3:30 pm in our New Britain, CT location

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Highly disciplined experienced maintenance technician/mechanic in a fast-paced production facility.
  • High School and/or Trade School graduate or equivalent training and experience required.
  • Must have experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various pieces of equipment & controls.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write English
  • Experience with 24VDC, 120VAC, 480VAC, safety circuits, photo eyes, Motor Control Circuits and VFD Controllers.
  • Experience with powered roller conveyor systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • PLC experience is a plus, programming not required

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

 

  • Must be able to diagnoses malfunctions and troubleshoot systems to determine the required repair(s). This may include dismantling, replacing, and adjustments to current assembles.
  • Perform root cause failure analysis to eliminate repeat occurrences on maintenance issues.
  • Devises methods of altering machinery and equipment to improve operating characteristics within the principles of Continuous Improvement. May perform electronic maintenance, machine repair, and plumbing duties
  • Maintain, repair and preventive maintenance of production equipment from basic hydraulic equipment to CNC machinery, performing electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical work of all equipment on site.
  • Performs grounds and buildings general maintenance, painting, or performing carpentry duties on an as necessary basis.
  • maintenance assignments may require skills in carpentry, plumbing, and repair of machinery, mechanical equipment, electrical circuits, and appliances.
  • Able to lift and carry products and/or equipment of up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to work extended hours and Saturdays as business needs arise
  • Follow company and OSHA safety policies & procedures.
  • Work closely with other maintenance mechanics to anticipate needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
