Summary:
AVNA is currently seeking applicants for the position of Manufacturing Manager. We are a high volume, dynamic, expanding organization using various technologies in the manufacture of medical device components and assemblies. This position reports to the Director of Operations and has responsibility for the manufacturing operations at our Berlin CT facility where we employ upwards of 100 staff.
For this role we are seeking a results-oriented individual who has 8-10 years’ experience in managing 75+ employees. Knowledge and experience in leading and coaching is required to support an infrastructure that is designed for performance and growth. Applicants shall be quality minded, have intimate knowledge of cGMP and possess a desire for Operational Excellence. They must also bring with them a tenacious/can do attitude. Preference is for individuals with a background in high-volume manufacturing operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be a safety advocate.
- Coach/Mentor direct reports. Build a strong leadership foundation in support of talent management and operational goals.
- Identify training needs/gaps and develop plans to ensure current and newly hired employees have the knowledge needed to accomplish company mission and goals.
- Achieve and maintain elevated employee morale by intimately engaging with all manufacturing staff, building relationships based on trust.
- Continuously assess resources and technical competencies to ensure proper utilization/deployment as needed to execute the manufacturing plan.
- Utilizing technology, analyze the performance of manufacturing processes (downtime/scrap/rework).
- Identify systemic failures in the processes. Formulate corrective action plans and ensure execution.
- Prioritize and coordinate production support with maintenance and toolroom.
- Support New Product Development Group resource needs to achieve 100% on time delivery of project milestones.
- Establish the annual department budget, monitor monthly and adjust as needed to stay on target.
- Identify capital project needs and provide Sr. Leadership for annual capital investment analysis.
- Be an effective communicator and demonstrate professionalism at all levels of the organization.
- Inspire high performance and lead by example. Be a change advocate.
Job Requirements:
Minimum
- 10+ years of experience in leading a staff of 75+ in manufacturing environment
- Self-Starter with tenacity
- Skilled in Microsoft 365 suite of products
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to develop logical, documented plans
- Ability to bring people together in the spirit of teamwork.
- Experience in metal manufacturing (machining, grinding, etc.)
Desirable
- BS in Management/Engineering discipline
- Six Sigma Black Belt
- Knowledge of ERP system – Job Dispatch, Job Routing, Performance Data
