Electrician Journeyman
Job Overview:
Electrician installs, maintains tests, troubleshoots, and repairs industrial electrical equipment, machinery, and associated electrical and electronic controls
Responsibilities:
Understands internal customer needs and meets expectations.
Must be able to demonstrate competence in basic computer skills.
Knows the daily schedule and performance targets and meets expectations.
Maintains the highest level of Electrical and Instrumentation skills.
Assures standards are being met.
Troubleshoots and diagnoses plant maintenance problems.
Maintains and installs electrical equipment including PLC systems, VFD’s, analog & digital equipment, networking, and HMI systems.
Understanding and using of electrical testing equipment, such as using a meter to troubleshoot equipment.
Assures areas are clean and free of clutter and that all safety rules, regulations and precautions are being followed.
Performs all other duties assigned.
Must act in accordance with WE CARE and participate in improvement activities.
Other actions as needed to satisfy company goals, processes, and procedures and to uphold values inherent to Oil-Dri.
Acquires further training and proficiency in other job functions on the processing team.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology or related field, or Journeyman Electrician license preferred.
Must meet Oil-Dri written and hands-on assessment requirements
Skills & Abilities:
Must be fully proficient in diagnosing and making repairs to electrical motor controls including VFD’s, install/maintain PLC systems and networking, installs analog and digital equipment, and assists in the design of HMI systems.
Must be able to read electrical schematic.
Must be knowledgeable of the appropriate electrical code and of pertinent city or state inspection and safety requirements.
Must be available for on-call duty.
Must be able to function in the required role while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including, but not limited to: Safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, dust mask, protective coveralls, and other as may be required by a hot/cold, dusty, loud industrial environment.
Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently.
Bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, walking, and climbing stairways and ladders frequently.
Must be able to work at heights of 100 feet or greater.
