Position Summary:
The IT Security Analyst will be responsible for protecting the company’s information systems and networks from cyber threats. This role involves monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents, as well as implementing security measures to prevent future breaches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor Security Systems: Continuously monitor security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus software, to identify and respond to potential threats.
- Incident Response: Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware infections, data breaches, and unauthorized access attempts. Coordinate with other IT teams to mitigate and resolve incidents.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify security weaknesses. Work with IT teams to remediate vulnerabilities.
- Security Audits: Perform security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Prepare reports and recommendations based on audit findings.
- Security Policies and Procedures: Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and guidelines. Ensure that all employees are aware of and adhere to security best practices.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential security risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize and address risks.
- Security Awareness Training: Provide security awareness training to employees to promote a culture of security within the organization.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of security incidents, vulnerabilities, and remediation efforts. Ensure that all security-related documentation is up-to-date.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, including network administrators, system administrators, and application developers, to ensure that security is integrated into all aspects of the IT infrastructure.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest security trends, threats, and technologies. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in IT security or a related role.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in security tools and technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and antivirus software. Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and security frameworks.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Hybrid role based out of the Chicago office. Monday - Wednesday onsite required.
