Oak Hill is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to assist in maintaining and improving the health and wellbeing of individuals by monitoring health status and providing appropriate treatments to individuals with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities to enable their highest quality of life in terms of their physical, emotional, and mental health while adhering to Oak Hill’s policies and procedures. The LPN at Oak Hill’s Portland Classroom works 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday 8a-4p assists in maintaining the health and well-being of students by monitoring health issues and implementing policies, procedures and programs designed to promote health and the educational process. Additionally, the LPN assists in the educational and social development of students under the direction of the Certified Special Education Teacher.
Minimum Requirements:
- Licensed Practical Nurse Certificate
- At least age 18
- Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities:
- Provides medical care and treatment required to ensure students’ ability to learn and actively engage in their education.
- Works with educational teams to integrate the health care plan into routine school programs.
- Communicates directly with nurse supervisor, in addition to appropriate contacts, and documenting in accordance with nurse standards and school policy manual
- Assists in implementation of instruction to engage students in rigorous and relevant learning and promote their curiosity about the world at large
- Works with colleagues, students and families to develop a positive school climate that supports student learning.
- Maximizes support for student learning by developing and demonstrating professionalism, collaboration and leadership by engaging in continuous professional learning to impact instruction and student learning.
