As a Recovery Specialist, you will be responsible for the following:
- Serving as an integral part in progressive collection activity for non-performing delinquent accounts.
- Continuing to work with members who are delinquent on their secured, revolving, business, and personal loans.
- Working with collection agencies, attorneys, and various other third-party vendors to assist in collection activities.
- Having specialization within the department and possess general knowledge of compliance rules, applicable laws, and regulations to process, monitor and collect on legal, bankruptcy, repossessions, business, and foreclosures of such loans.
- Communicating with members, vendors, and employees to aid with questions and concerns related to progressive collection accounts.
Salary Range:
This is an exempt position. The salary range starts at $60,783.66 annually; however, actual placement within the range will be determined individually based on your experience relative to organizational needs and internal salary equity.
Schedule:
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday-Friday & 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM one Saturday a month
Education/Experience:
You must have:
- An associate's degree in a related field; and
- Three years of related experience in collections.
- Post-charge off, collateral, and repossession collection experience preferred.
- Credit union experience preferred.
Applicable work experience and/or military experience may be substituted for education at the rate of two years of experience for one year of education. Applicable additional education levels may be eligible to satisfy experience requirements.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Incumbent Bonding REQUIRED by TFCU’s chosen authority.
- Valid driver’s license, maintaining an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
Keys to success:
In order to be successful as a Recovery Specialist, you must possess these qualifications:
- Maintain current working knowledge of TFCU’s loan policies and underwriting guidelines.
- Proficient knowledge of Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), laws, regulations, and proper collection procedures.
- Proficient knowledge of Chapter 7, 11, 12, and 13 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
- Basic knowledge of court and legal procedures and documentation.
- Proficient in the use collection software and TFCU mainframe software.
- Expert ability to maximize recoveries, while maintaining positive member relations.
