To propel our culture of inclusion & innovation, we are seeking a full-time Manager of Crew Engagement & Inclusion to join Space Center Houston’s Human Resources Department in January 2025.
This new role will report to the Director of Human Resources and partner with the Chief HR & Inclusion Officer to accomplish HR’s mission: “Be HeRoes for the CREW, serving as Culture Champions, who achieve Results & build Relationships with Every Employee to create a World-Class Workforce.”
In this role, the Manager of Crew Engagement & Inclusion maximizes engagement of every Crew Member, designing and delivering training & development strategies, initiatives, and programs that support Space Center Houston’s growth and enhance the organization’s capabilities.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads and manages Crew engagement efforts, which includes overseeing the administration of engagement surveys, maintaining a survey vendor relationship, ensuring survey communications, data distribution, action planning, tracking of key action items, and planning Crew engagement events for the organization.
- Promotes a culture of employee engagement and inclusion through opportunities for professional development, working with crew members to ensure that all relationships are properly nurtured and prioritized.
- Recommends and implements strategies that enhance employee engagement and advises Space Center Houston (SCH) leadership on inclusion matters.
- Initiates and manages an advisory council with representation from across Space Center Houston, serving as thought leader & agenda owner.
- Provides leadership in building inclusion competencies and skill-sets across HR and for leaders at all levels, including internal development and awareness programs, workshops, book clubs, and other informal discussions.
- Manages overall training and development strategies, programs, and initiatives for Space Center Houston.
- Monitors progress of SCH’s representation data and develops on-going plans and measures that support the evolution of Inclusion at SCH.
- Builds collaborative relationships and strategic alliances with internal and external individuals, organizations and constituencies that are important to Space Center Houston’s objectives to build a culture of inclusion & innovation.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with six or more years of experience working in HR or people-related roles, with emphasis on employee engagement and inclusion.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with exceptional ability to communicate in writing and verbally across many levels of the organization.
- Ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budgetary guidelines.
- Skills in analyzing data and presenting information and recommendations based on the data.
- Strong group facilitation skills.
- Motivated self-starter who works well with a team and also independently.
- Ability to respond adeptly to changing priorities, and to juggle and prioritize simultaneous assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong ethic of service and desire to be a part of a fun, hard-working team.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities with evidence of success in delivering clear outcomes to agreed timeframes, deadlines and budgets.
Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 commensurate with experience
