Summary
Performs routine and emergency meter maintenance including, but not limited to, changing water meters, repairing meters and meter leaks, and repairing or replacing meter boxes.  Assists with other functions of the water metering department as needed.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs meter maintenance including, but not limited to, meter changes, meter repairs, meter leaks, cutoff repair / replacement, and meter relocation 
• Assists in other areas of the metering department to include, but not limited to, reading water meters, miscellaneous work orders, re-reads, and disconnection/reconnection of water service
• Follows city policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Plumbing experience or experience in a related area
• Experience in water meter operations and repair

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

• Valid driver’s license 
• Class D Water License issued by TCEQ or the ability to obtain within six months
