Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing the mowing of all TXDOT and roadsides throughout the City. Assists the Maintenance Foreman to plan and schedule work assignments related to the assigned mowing areas.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversees and provides instruction to crewmembers to ensure proper completion of assigned duties. Develop and recommend maintenance schedules for TXDOT roads and all city roadsides
- Serves in lead role for the mowing division in absence of mowing foreman
- Operates various types of equipment such as front loader, dump truck, pay loader, boom mower, shredder, bucket truck, tractor, and riding mower, etc.
- Assists in the completion of assigned projects such as sanding, painting, seeding / sodding grass, welding, wood working, park equipment repair, pouring concrete, graffiti removal, basic
- construction, and other assigned maintenance tasks
- Inspects, cleans, and maintains equipment by checking fluid levels, tires, etc. and keeping accurate records of these checks
- Ensures proper safety policies and procedures are enforced on the job sites
- Assists with interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling to maintain mowing and construction schedules
- Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) experience in experience as a utility worker or related area
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Current Commercial driver license (CDL)
