SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Accounting Manager to join our Accounting Team. This role will be responsible for providing expert guidance on complex accounting issues, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the preparation of consolidated, multi-currency financial statements. This role will work closely with various departments to address technical accounting matters, drive process improvements, and contribute to the overall financial integrity of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide guidance on technical accounting issues, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, purchase accounting, fair value measurements, and other complex areas
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP. Stay current with changes in accounting regulations and implement necessary process adjustments
- Oversee the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements and footnote disclosures. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports
- Develop and maintain consolidated balance sheet reconciliations needed for external audits and for internal financial analysis
- Assist in coordinating the YE audit process with our external auditors
- Design and implement a consolidated intercompany payable/receivable reconciliation and maintain monthly
- Ensure proper documentation of journal entries, reconciliations, and significant accounting policies
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting practices. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Provide training and support to accounting staff on technical issues and new accounting standards
- Work cross-functionally to address accounting issues and support business initiatives. Collaborate with finance, sales, and operations teams to ensure alignment and accuracy
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field
- CPA license (active) and public accounting experience
- 4-5 years of supervisory experience in the areas of accounting and financial reporting
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
- Ability to understand the big picture and make decisions within this framework
- Attention to detail and ability to analyze large volumes of data
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and databases
- Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
