Operations Support Specialist
SUMMARY: The Operations Support Specialist collaborates closely with the document control, manufacturing, purchasing and warehouse teams to support the day-to-day operations of MultiTech. In doing so, they are responsible for inventory adjustments resulting from cycle counts; reviewing, processing and approving -- or preparing for approval -- engineering change orders (ECOs) and changes to bills of materials (BOMs); and collaborating with teams regarding inventory issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Initiates and facilitates full annual cycle counts; investigate, process and document adjustment and deviation requests for appropriate approvals.
- Performs routine tasks to resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Work with production personnel to resolve back flush errors.
- Work with manufacturing on movement of work centers.
- Verify, compare and approve BOM changes to keep our ERP system in sync and up to date with our CAD system.
- Enter and verify ECOs into the ERP System for tracking and query purposes.
- Review and make appropriate adjustments of DNI (do not inventory), Auto Scrap and MFG Scrap materials.
- Handle maintenance of first article holds.
- Provide back-up to the stockroom and/or warehouse teams as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Adheres to quality system standards such as first in first out, appropriate material handling, etc., ESD requirements and safety rules.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic math skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Observant problem solver
- Good communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)
- Basic computer skills: Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel required; ERP/Powershift experience preferred
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 2+ years manufacturing and/or inventory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lifting requirements up to 25 pounds
- Requires standing, sitting, and walking for periods of time
- Use hands to finger, handle or feel
- Reaching required
- Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Minimal noise.
- Our Minnesota facility includes a manufacturing environment. Moderate noise level. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; safety glasses, hearing protection, wrist and/or shoe straps, and ESD smock. Loose fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted. No food allowed in the manufacturing area. No cell phone use allowed in manufacturing area unless approved by management.
