Psychotherapist (Veterans Services Center & OMHC)
General Summary:
Full time, salaried psychotherapy position with benefits. Under clinical supervision of the Clinic Director, and requiring skills, education, licensure, provides outpatient psychotherapy services to individuals, groups and families. Exciting opportunity to provide in-person and telehealth at Veterans Services Center. Experience or interested in learning to work with Veterans. Will manage walk-ins and scheduled appointments and provide screening and treatment for mental health symptoms. Coordinate care with Veterans Services staff. Therapist will provide direct psychotherapy to veterans and consultation to individuals and staff regarding mental health conditions (50% of the time). 50% of time will be providing therapy via telehealth to diverse clinic population.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assess clients and collaboratively develop an Initial Treatment Plan to meet psychotherapy goals as credentialed and privileged to do so.
- Provides individual, family, and group therapy as credentialed and privileged, to clients and as part of a collaborative treatment plan as demonstrated by signatures on treatment plans and content of session notes.
- Provides necessary documentation in a timely way for authorizations. Completes treatment plans, transitions and discharge forms within scheduled times. Documents all services delivered in EHR within the quality assurance guidelines.
- Facilitate referral, coordinate, and document these services.
- Coordinate with Veterans Services staff and other service providers to enhance outcomes. Seek consultation and supervision for clients that are identified as possible high risk or high acuity or have other concerns that psychotherapist may need assistance. Consultation can be with a clinical supervisor the treating psychiatrist, the Medical Director, and Clinic Director.
- Maintains licensure and stays up to date on mandated training requirements.
- Participate in clinic and Veterans Services Center activities such as treatment plan meetings, staff meetings, and other activities as requested.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Work requires a clinical experience, a master’s degree, and LCSW-C license in Maryland
- Interest in working with Veterans and willingness to learn and develop competency.
- Work requires an understanding of psychiatric diagnosis and assessment, ability to develop a treatment plan, and provide services as described in the plan.
- Work requires the skills necessary to provide professional psychotherapy services.
