Maintenance Manager

Job Summary

Manages equipment reliability effort at a facility. Responsible for implementation and oversight of the Total Preventative Maintenance program and preventive maintenance efforts.

Job Duties

  • Lead the site maintenance team of 20+ technicians, electricians, and mechanics across 3 shifts at a manufacturing facility.
  • Identify cost saving opportunities related to machinery, equipment, upkeep, and preventative maintenance.
  • Project management- responsible for budgeting, planning, and coordinating equipment repair/install. Submit capital requests.
  • Reporting on machine downtime to include cause and future prevention through problem solving, utilizing the 5 why’s and determining corrective action.
  • Manage facilities and groundskeeping on property and in office area of plant.
  • Managing Workorder system by prioritizing and assigning work to Maintenance staff in a timely manner.
  • Manage and serve as first line for emergency responses.
  • Responsible for training and development of staff, including estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies
  • Responsible for implementation of the site TPM program
  • Schedule and ensure compliance with required preventative maintenance
  • Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
  • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education

  • Knowledge of the field's policies, procedures and practices
  • Lead and direct the work of other employees
  • Typically, have full authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance or disciplinary actions
  • Typically require accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program and 7 or more years of experience
  • Experience with implementation or management of a TPM program
