Engineering Technician 1 - 9540
MPS is looking for a talented and motivated Intermediate to senior Engineering Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, improvement and technical support of engineering projects, leveraging their skills in mechanical design, machining programming and continuous improvement project management.

What you'll do
- Design and Update Drawings: Use SolidWorks to create, edit, and update production drawings and customer drawings.
- Machining Jigs Design: Design and optimize jigs for machining processes based on production needs.
- Machining programming: Use FeatureCAM to develop precise machining programs adapted to production equipment.
- Continuous improvement: Participate in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement projects to optimize processes and reduce costs.
- Production Support: Provide daily technical support to the production team to resolve technical issues and optimize processes.
- Engineering Change Management: Oversee and document Engineering Change Requests (ECR/ECO), ensuring traceability and implementation of changes.
- Comply with 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of the work area, etc.)
- Adhere to health and safety, environmental and quality policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need to excel in this role
Studies:
- Degree in mechanical engineering technology or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years in a similar position
- Experience in technical project management.
Additional knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and a good understanding of mechanical design principles.
- Experience with FeatureCAM or other machining programming software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality standards.
- Good understanding of continuous improvement concepts and Lean methodologies (an asset).
- Analytical skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual French/English oral and written. Communication Canada and the United States.
