Job Summary
|
The Buyer/Planner plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless procurement and availability of materials required to support production and sales objectives. This position combines strategic sourcing, production planning, and inventory management to optimize costs, maintain supplier relationships, and meet organizational goals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, exceptional organizational skills, and a proactive approach to supply chain operations.

Job Duties
|
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to source high-quality materials at competitive prices.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
- Foster and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure consistent and timely delivery.
- Create and maintain production schedules that align with customer demand and inventory targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, sales, and logistics, to achieve operational efficiency.
- Analyze production forecasts to anticipate material requirements and mitigate risks of shortages or overages.
- Evaluate and monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality and delivery standards.
- Identify and onboard new suppliers to support evolving business needs and objectives.
- Resolve supplier issues promptly to minimize disruptions to production.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing carrying costs.
- Utilize data-driven insights to track usage patterns and forecast future material needs.
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
- Maintain detailed records of purchase orders, supplier agreements, and material deliveries.
- Prepare periodic reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier metrics.
- Drive process improvements to enhance procurement and planning efficiencies.
- Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to support strategic initiatives.
- Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately.
- Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
- Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education
|
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 2–4 years of professional experience in a Buyer/Planner or related supply chain role.
- Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and inventory management tools.
