Restaurant Supervisor
Position Summary:
To effectively promote, sell, and operate the Cambria Hotel Fort Lauderdale Beach outlets, while providing an outstanding experience to our guests.
Essential Functions:
Attendance as scheduled is required.
To ensure guest satisfaction.
Maintain flow between operations in the Dining Room, Bar, Lounge, In-Room Dining, and Pool-Side Lounge.
Oversees multiple tasks at one time in high volume areas.
Responsible for training and supervisions of all associates.
Must maintain all service systems and standards in accordance with hotel polices.
Experience:
1 - 3 years of food service or related hospitality industry supervisory experience is required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be proficient in computer technologies including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and )Outlook
TIPs certification or other alcohol serves safe certification is required.
Basic technical knowledge of restaurant operations & pos systems.
Must be able to cover all areas of the restaurant, hosting, bussing, bartending, serving, and expediting.
Skills:
Open and close shift in accordance with manager's checklist.
Assist with serving, seating and restaurant flow.
Engage in continuous guest interaction, and guest satisfaction.
Ensure that all prescribed service standards & procedures are adhered to.
Properly execute revenue and check control procedures on shift.
Assisting in new ideas in order to create revenue, and promote hotel.
Handle daily associate relations (e.g., scheduling, time adjustments).
Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment for all associates and guests.
Ensure that mise en place including a comprehensive pre-meal is conducted before each shift.
Must be able to monitor labor hours and coverage of staff.
Resolve shift challenges, such as call outs, impromptu reservations etc.
Assist in the development and execution of marketing / promotion programs.
Physical Job Requirements:
Able to stand & walk for long periods of time.
Must be able to work variable shifts, including some/all holidays.
Able to lift / push pull weights of up to 50 pounds with & without mechanical.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
Environment:
Hearing: Must be able to assist server in taking guest orders, and hear guest requests.
Vision: Must be able to check for food accuracy & be able to assess guest body language and expressions.
Speech: Must be able to explain food items and specials.
Literacy: Must be able to write and communicate orders.
Equipment:
Must be able to operate: coffee machines, espresso machine, toaster ovens, blender, Micros, heat lamps, Computer terminals/printer, mop, broom, dust pan, dishwasher, cleaning chemicals.
