Housekeeping Supervisor
Position Summary:
The housekeeping supervisor is a key individual in achieving the goals and quality standards of the housekeeping department. The housekeeping supervisor must impact all elements of the department from standards of cleanliness and associates morale to budgetary goals and inter-departmental relations. As such, the housekeeping supervisor has responsibility for:
Primary operation of the Housekeeping Department on a day to day basis.
Work closely with Housekeeping Manager to lead successful team and fulfill duties of the department.
Having a working knowledge of all housekeeping cleaning equipment and preventive maintenance program for such machines. Responsible for training all associates on proper usage and handling of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
Essential Functions:
Ensure that assigned areas are properly cleaned daily
Consistently inspect assigned areas and turn in inspection reports
Ensure that all reports are prepared completely and promptly
Ensure that an effective and complete training program is in use and that all associates are well trained and re-trained as needed.
Ensure that SOPS are available, current and in effect
Ensure that proper key controls are in effect
Control overtime through proper scheduling and immediate response to problems
Ensure that all associates are hygienically clean with clean, complete uniforms
Immediate response to all guest problems and correspondence
Ensure that Lost and Found articles are stored properly and that the correct logs are maintained.
Maintain division goals in relation to accident prevention, safety and fire prevention and Associate awareness
Work closely with Engineering Department to insure that the rooms and equipment preventive maintenance procedures are in effect and consistently carried out
Experience:
Previous hotel housekeeping experience is strongly preferred.
Prior supervisor experience a must.
Skills:
Ability to effectively communicate in English.
Communicate and problem solve for guest issues/concerns
Ability to coach and train fellow associates
Physical Job Requirements:
Must be able to be on your feet for an excess of 8 hours in one shift
Constant walking up to 8 hours in one shift
Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs
Environment:
Hearing and Speech; Must be able to speak to associates as well as guests
Vision; Must be able to check for thorough cleanliness
Literacy; Must be able to write down and communicate information between departments and to fellow associates and management.

Vacuum cleaners, laundry equipment
