Job Title: Corporate Sales Manager for Meyer Jabara Hotels

 

Job Description: We are looking for an individual who is extremely motivated with high energy who is looking to continue their career in sales. We are seeking an individual who will be aggressive, take ownership and work hard. Candidates should be hospitality focused and be able to manage several tasks at once. This individual should have the desire to make outside sales calls with the ability to “close the sale”. This Corporate Sales Manager should also have the ability to manage change effectively with clear written and verbal communication. The success of this position will be achieved by taking ownership of the sales process. This individual will be expected to maintain and improve relationships with current accounts; identify new business, and become an active participant in the local community. Assists as needed with special projects or activities as directed by the Director of Sales or General Manager. Be creative and feel free to make contributions and suggestions with regard to office procedures or services that will make a hotel guest stay more enjoyable or more profitable for the hotel.

 

Major Functions: Solicits/Prospects all types of individual and group rooms business for Meyer Jabara’s multiple high-end boutique properties in Baltimore’s Fells Point and Inner Harbor neighborhoods to include:

  • The William Fell, Tapestry Collection by Hilton (Opening April 2025)
  • Inn at Henderson’s Wharf, Ascend Collection
  • Pier 5 Hotel Baltimore

Market responsibilities are corporate, association, and government groups and meetings.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 2 years of selling group business in a Hotel with a proven track record of success.
  • Detail oriented & self-motivated with a strong emphasis on achieving goals.
  • Must possess the ability to complete telephone solicitation calls and in person sales calls, both in-house and offsite.
  • Must be able to negotiate group room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and hotel services within approved booking guidelines.
  • The incumbent will also be responsible for developing banquet event orders, must possess excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and telephone skills.
  • Conducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Attends and represents at trades shows and city-wide conventions.
  • Experience using Delphi.fdc and STS Cloud sales and catering systems.
  • Hilton and Choice experience is a plus
  • Must be flexible – job requires some weekend hours  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Solicits/Prospects all business potential from companies, individuals and organizations for group room nights & catering
  • Books quality business which meets the needs of the client as well as the hotels’ budgeted criteria.
  • Fully understands that the most important function of the Sales Department is to book business at a profitable level.
  • Participates in weekly Sales and Yield meetings, and after hour’s functions such as special events outside of the Hotel with Networking events, etc.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance, and a personality in rapport with customers and other employees.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing corporate clients, ensuring high customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential business opportunities and trends in the corporate sector.
  • Respond to inquiries in a timely manner and provide exceptional customer service to corporate clients.
  • Develop and implement corporate sales strategies to achieve the hotel’s revenue goals and increase market share.
