Houseperson – Housekeeping - AM/ PM Shift
Marriott Stamford Hotel & Spa

 

 CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

 

Perform hotel cleaning activities in accordance with Marriott Stamford Hotel & Spa Housekeeping safety standards, while ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction. 

Qualifications:

  • This position requires strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in written form.
  • Must be able to read machinery instructions, follow information and ideas clearly.
  • Must work well in stressful high-pressure situations in the hotel areas.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the highest standard of guest care and maximum satisfaction, in Housekeeping area, at all times. Ensure the highest standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the assigned area.

 

  • Impeccable cleanliness, included areas of corridors or public areas, as assigned by Housekeeping Supervisors.

 

  • Cleaning in /out side hotel areas
  • Ensure the highest standard of guest care and maximum satisfaction in your assigned area of responsibility in public areas, according to the standard of the hotel

 

  • Greet any guest you meet on the corridors, guest rooms, or F&B areas professionally and with a smile.

 

  • Clean and prepare the assigned areas, within times set as a per standard of the hotel.

 

  • Ensure the highest standard of cleanliness and hygiene, according to the set standard of the hotel, in your assigned area.

 

  • Clean equipment, furniture or windows, ensuring the highest standard of cleanliness and hygiene, according to the standard of the hotel.

 

  • Ensure the proper, careful and professional handling of all housekeeping equipment.

 

  • Ensure the highest standard of cleanliness and hygiene in all assigned back areas, like linen cupboards, shelving, trolleys, etc

 

  • Adhere to the spring-cleaning assignments, as requested by your supervisor, according to the standard required by the hotel.

 

  • Adhere to the standard of cost control for all linen, towels, guest supply, stationery, cleaning material.

 

  • Use the correct equipment and supply for your work, according to the standard of the hotel.

 

  • Strictly report, immediately, any faults of equipment, fittings or furniture to the respective Housekeeping Supervisor, or the Housekeeping Manager, as per standard required by the hotel.
  • Provide housekeepers with the items needed to clean guest rooms and help stock the carts.
  • Stripping linen from checked out rooms, stocking the housekeeping shelves.
  • Make sure that outside areas, sidewalks and parking lot are kept clean, tidy and in working order.
  • Taking care of common areas in a hotel, such as the lobby, restrooms and pool area where applicable.
  • Must be detail-oriented, have good customer service skills, be able to lift some heavy items and understand cleaning basics.  

 

 

 

Work Environment and Context:

  • Work schedule variation and may include working on holidays, weekends, or alternate shifts.
  • Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, pulling bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, reaching, kneeling and bending.
  • Operate heavy machinery and use cleaning chemicals.
