Laundry Attendant- AM/ PM Shift

Marriott Stamford Hotel & Spa

Position reports to Director of Housekeeping or Manager Housekeeping

 CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Perform laundry cleaning activities in accordance with Marriott Stamford Hotel & Spa laundry safety standards, while ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction. 

Qualifications:

• This position requires strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in written form.
• Must be able to read machinery instructions, follow information and ideas clearly.
• Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative work in the Laundry quickly and accurately.
• Must work well in stressful high pressure situations in the Laundry

Responsibilities:

• Comply at all times with Marriott Stamford Hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient laundry operations.
• Sort, count, and pre-treat soiled linen in preparation for laundering.
• Load and unload washers and dryers.
• Maintain equipment as trained.
• Fold, store and distribute towels and linens.
• Practice safe work habits and wear protective safety equipment. 
• Assist with other housekeeping tasks in the event of staffing shortages.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Work Environment and Context:

• Work schedule variation and may include working on holidays, weekends, or alternate shifts.
• Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, pulling bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, reaching, kneeling and bending.
• Operate heavy machinery and use cleaning chemicals.

Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
