CGOIF - Sr. Marketing Manager 

POSITION SUMMARY

 

This position is responsible for developing business for a product or group of products. This may require trading existing products that our company historically supports, identifying and evaluating potential new markets by developing strategic plans for market entry. Responsibilities also include designing a new type of business including financing arrangements, exclusive contracts for the manufacture of a product, securing exclusive distribution rights both in the U.S. and abroad and exploring opportunities for possible venture capital investment. Also, incumbent maintains business with existing clients by providing quality client service, designing supply chain scheme, and managing plans of efficient and timely deliveries of products. Builds and maintains strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and may oversee and manage several cross-functional teams where applies and multiple projects simultaneously.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Develops plans and budget for business cases and projects. Researches and analyzes markets, determines potential customers, competitors’ activities, establishes strategies and the methodologies for business development and growth. Determine and inform strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for differentiation.

 

  • Secures and conduct in depth reviews of financing arrangements. Negotiates with suppliers and manufacturers for establishing appropriate business terms and conditions. Design supply chain management, and any other special arrangements as necessary.  Negotiating with the buyers to meet their needs yet ensuring profitability for the company considering the assumed risk associated with each deal. 

 

  • Prepares commercial offers by carefully considering and defining material terms. If successful, review all facets of the contract with Legal Department and engage in additional negotiations as needed. Once a business is established, continuously seek and add value propositions to maximize its growth along with conducting any necessary risk profile assessments and controls. The role involves working with various business frameworks including import, export, offshore or domestic.

 

  • Manage existing business with established clients, by processing their orders, ensuring that their purchase arrives in an efficient, timely basis and addressing their inquiries. Consistently works to expand and strengthen the client relationship. Identifying potential new markets and creating a plan to enter those markets.

 

  • Requires continuous cost analyses and efficiency improvements, cash flow and working capital controls, to secure appropriate returns to investing capitals and exposing risks.

 

  • Requires engagement in client and supplier’s financial review and arrangements. In conjunction with the Risk Management Department and Credit Managers, incumbent determines the level of credit to be extended. Monitors payment schedule. Determines interest due on late payments. Prepares review reports showing the status of the transactions.

 

  • May prepare necessary documents required for processing of the business transaction. May delegate some of these to the administration or operations staff.

 

  • May be responsible for the management of a subsidiary that originated from a segment of Mitsui business. 

 

  • Monitors market situation and economic environment to deploy successful and timely marketing efforts and to enforce appropriate business management (orders, inventories, pricing, etc.).

 

  • Develop networks in targeting industries and aggregate market intelligence to determine potential opportunities and promote business development.    

 

  • May act as a "lead" for positions that essentially perform the same tasks. Responsible for assigning and reviewing work. May be responsible for training new employees, supporting and providing feedback.

 

  • Oversees and manage several cross-functional teams where applies and multiple projects simultaneously.

 

  • Participates in projects as assigned by manager.

 

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum nine (9) years’ experience or a combination of training and experience which indicates the ability to do the job. Requires thorough knowledge of international trade procedures, customs laws, bookkeeping principles, etc. Requires extensive knowledge of procedures for shipping, air transportation, freight forwarders. Strong mathematical and analytical skills, comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics and processing figures with spreadsheets. Good time-management and multitasking capabilities. Strong leadership skills, communication, and decision-making skills. Self-driven, ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Working knowledge of Word and Excel, and the operation of a PC. Must have a network of business contacts and extensive knowledge of the product(s) that are to be sold, such as technical workings of the project, environmental and economic situations that would affect usage, and how the buyers use it.  Excellent communication and negotiation skills required.  Should possess the ability to adapt to a cross cultural environment.
