NASAB - Staff Accountant
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for processing workflows, preparing and posting accruals, maintaining the General Ledger and associated reports for several business departments and/or Group Companies. This includes reconciliation of accounts, preparation of reports, and assist during audits and additional support as required.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintains detailed, accurate General Ledgers for several business departments. This requires maintaining open communication with corporate accounting business departments in addition to posting accrual journal entries and ensuring proper reversal of accruals.
• Audits the accounting entries, watching for problem areas and any unusual occurrences. All problems need to be corrected and documented.
• Advises business departments on filing the required reports with the Accounting department. Explains the requirements, procedures and provides instructions for compiling the information, and tracking it over the financial periods
• Prepares and analyzes the Balance Sheet statement on a quarterly and annual basis.
• Assists the company's independent auditors by researching and providing
documentation for all requested transactions.
• Participates in projects as assigned by manager.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
• Minimum two (2) years experience or a combination of training and experience which indicates the ability to do the job.
• Bachelors degree in Accounting recommended, but CPA not required.
• Good mathematical and analytical skills required, as well as speed and accuracy in meeting closings and deadlines.
• Requires thorough knowledge of MS Word, Excel.
• Position also requires use of several in-house and/or professionally produced software packages.
• Should possess the ability to adapt to a cross-cultural environment.
