We are looking for a Thread Roll Trainee to help maintain and learn the efficiency and smooth operation of our Rolling Department. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement while gaining hands-on experience in a supportive, team-oriented environment. You will work closely with our Roller Operators and department leaders to ensure machines are operating at peak performance, providing a key role in maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Maintenance: Lubricate equipment, perform scheduled oil changes, and handle minor machine repairs.
- Cleaning & Purging: Wash down all machines and purge material systems to maintain optimal functionality.
- Material Handling: Handle Work in Progress (WIP) tubs, stage materials at machines, and manage the loading/removal of WIP material from parts hoppers.
- Equipment Troubleshooting: Report any equipment malfunctions, production shortages, excessive tool usage, or other issues to your supervisor.
- Scrap Management: Manage scrap by dumping into designated containers, weighing, and completing necessary paperwork.
- Machine Operations: Familiarize yourself with machine controls, adjustments, and maintenance procedures as outlined in manufacturer manuals.
- Production Documentation: Complete required production and downtime records, as well as first-piece tickets.
- Quality Assurance: Perform pan checks to ensure product quality, clean dies, and other tooling as needed.
- Collaborative Support: Assist with machine setup, teardown, and other department needs as assigned.
Experience & Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar role or related manufacturing field preferred.
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision, handle moderate issues, and escalate more complex problems to higher-level staff.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong ability to interpret work instructions and follow both written and verbal directions.
- Basic communication and mathematical skills to perform daily tasks.
- Attention to detail and focus on maintaining high-quality standards.
