HUMAN RESOURCES LOA SPECIALIST - CB & VR - FULL-TIME - DAY SHIFT
STARTING RATE: D.O.E.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: State of Nevada Gaming Permit.
JOB SUMMARY:
Work within an assigned functional area to provide expertise in all aspects of Human Resources, with an emphasis in leaves of absence. Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and helping resolve leave of absence related matters.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
At least one (1) year previous experience in Human Resources. Must be able to multitask and prioritize projects, be detail oriented, organized, a self-starter, have analytical problem-solving skills and work under pressure and deadlines. Must exhibit outstanding written and verbal communication and listening skills. The ideal candidate will have excellent computer skills to include all Microsoft Office applications and Human Resources Information related software. Must possess excellent problem-solving and persuasive skills. Must possess a professional and compassionate demeanor when assisting customers (employees) with sensitive matters. Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
Preferred: Ability to communicate fluently in Spanish. Previous experience with Dayforce HRIS system.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare and maintain efficient and detailed electronic and paper records regarding all leaves of absence that are administered by the Human Resources Department, including, but not limited to, FMLA, Personal Leave, etc.
- Complete accurate data entry of all leaves of absence in the Human Resources Information system.
- Prepare leave of absence reports for internal/external distribution.
- Handle confidential information and matters with great sensitivity.
- Assist in all areas of the Human Resources Department, including, the Employment Center and Employee Relations, as needed/assigned.
- Provide a variety of clerical duties throughout the day as assigned, such as answering telephones and taking proper messages, assisting customers, opening, and distributing mail.
- Other job-related duties as assigned and instructed by management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work requires some physical exertion such as: standing, walking, and sitting, lifting up to 25 pounds, carrying, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment may involve everyday risks or discomforts associated with an office environment that requires normal safety precautions while taking care not to trip or fall. Temperature fluctuations when the doors are open. Moderate to loud noises from equipment in the work area. This is a 24 hour/7 day a week work environment with varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
