Human Resources - Human Resources Coordinator
The HR Coordinator is responsible to support HR functions such as employment, placement, orientation and training, (basic) employee relations, compensation, benefits, people process and transactional services. The HR Coordinator supports a culture of continuous improvement by being service oriented, coordinating special projects, establishing effective communication processes and deploying best practices across Viant Medical to improve cost, quality, delivery, and employee engagement. Essential Functions:
- Support recruiting process and applicant tracking systems; coordinate interview schedules; update position descriptions; prepare offer letters; coordinate pre-employment screening
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications; involves Sr. HR Manager to make determination if applicant is a qualified candidate.
- Facilitate new hire orientation, benefits open enrollment sessions, or other employee informational meetings
- Assist in coordinating site-wide communication plans for any HR local or HR Corp initiatives
- Manage mail, e-mail correspondence and voice mail messages
- Assist with system terminations and status changes accurately and efficiently
- Supports and participates in engagement committee(s).
- Assist with follow-up meetings with new hires and provides feedback to Supervisors/Departmental Managers.
- Performs routine tasks to assist with benefits and leaves.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, associates, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff and/or Sr. HR Manager.
- Functional understanding of compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Serves as back-up to other department tasks such as payroll and day-to-day employee questions and/or concerns.
- Run queries and maintain ad hoc reporting as required, including but not limited to: Headcount, New Hire, Termination, Open Position
- Maintain employee, training, recruitment, benefit/medical, I-9 and other files
- Coordinate and attend facility, department or team meetings as identified
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Business, Human Resource or Relevant degree preferred. Associate’s or some college hours helpful.
Experience:
- 2 years’ experience in a human resources department and/or office environment.
Skills and Competencies:
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task matters and prioritize work accordingly.
- Ability to foster a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration and teamwork.
- Demonstrated competence with HRIS, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Detailed oriented.

Physical Requirements:
- Light physical activity performing non-strenuous, day-to-day activities of a primarily administrative nature.
- Moderate lifting (20 lbs.), carrying (10 lbs.), bending, and prolonged sitting.
- Light work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
- On occasion, this position will be required to enter the clean room environment
- Work conditions do not subject associate to noise, vibration, hazards, etc.
