Calibration Technician 3

The Calibration Technician Category 3, under the direction of the calibration coordinator , will perform technician limited duties associated with calibration and calibration area quality assurance support. 

Main Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Coordinate calibrations according to business priorities (Schedule, on demands, new equipment)
  • Responsible for approving calibration reports, Work Request and calibration certificates by external calibration laboratories (suppliers) of all manufacturing, maintenance, facility and laboratory equipment
  • Responsible for assisting to calibration technicians when adjusting calibration equipment when deemed necessary.
  • Participate in Internal / External / Customer Quality System audits including all the readiness activities and documents explanation to auditors.
  • Develop new calibration techniques and procedures as necessary.
  • Provide support to other technicians (I and II).
  • Provide technical training to the other technicians (I and II)
  • Develop and implement improvement projects.
  • Provide support to the Calibration Coordinator in the creation of new procedures or improve the existing ones.
  • Provide support to the Calibration Coordinator in any required task as needed.
  • Ensure that correct test methods are being used for specifications requirements.
  • Continual communication with other departments, internal/external customers in order to coordinate and   meet calibration target dates based on criticality to the plant and customer requirements.
  • Management and total control of the calibration software, capable of training and solving software problems.
  • Give the necessary support to the fulfillment of the NCRs of the calibration system.

Knowledge / Education:

  • Metrology, Electronics, Electrics or any related field Technician or combination to training and experience.
  • Advance English level, reading comprehension and writing.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations for the medical device industry (FDA, ISO.) (Desirable)
  • Knowledge ISO 17025 and ISO 10012. (Desirable)
  • Knowledge and application of risk management (PFMEA’s). (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of software validation. (Desirable)
  • Knowledge in root cause analysis tools. (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma Methodology and Lean Manufacturing. (Desirable)
  • Knowledge in Auditor INTE/ISO/ 13485 and INTE/ISO 19011. (Desirable)
  • Certified Internal Auditor (Desirable)

Job Experience: 

  • At least 5–7-year work experience in calibration or any other area related with equipment management.
  • Project Management experience is a plus.
