Position Description:
This position is responsible for expediting parts, data analysis, creating standard processes and documenting those processes. Exhibits knowledge of operations in the assigned work area. Freedom to act, under moderate supervision, in semi-structured assignments. Solves problems of moderate scope and complexity. Demonstrates Viant Values.
Position Authority:
This position acts under the guidance of the Logistics Manager. Makes recommendations and reviews with supervisor or team members.
Essential Job Functions:
This job description outlines the primary responsibilities and qualifications for the Supply Chain Engineering Technician role in a medical device manufacturing environment. While the focus is on data analysis and supply chain optimization, the role also involves materials flow coordination and production support. Specific responsibilities may vary based on the company's size, structure, and unique requirements.
• Monitors and expedites the flow of goods and information required by the supply chain to ensure that critical processes run effectively and achieve organizational goals and performance KPIs.
• Gather data from various sources within the supply chain, including suppliers, material handlers, and production teams. Conduct thorough data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
• Create clear and informative reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate data-driven insights to stakeholders, enabling them to make well-informed decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process improvement based on data analysis. Implement and document data-driven solutions to enhance supply chain efficiency and optimize material flow.
• Work closely with suppliers, material handlers, and production teams to synchronize and facilitate the smooth flow of materials. Ensure timely delivery of components to support production schedules.
• Monitor and analyze stock levels, identifying opportunities to optimize inventory and minimize material shortages or excesses
• Provide data-driven recommendations to support production activities, such as optimizing production schedules and resolving material related challenges.
• Proactively identify data anomalies or supply chain issues and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address them promptly.
• Ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements. Maintain proper documentation of data sources, methodologies, and analysis.
Knowledge and Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management, or other related field preferred.
• Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Skills and Competencies:
• Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and precision.
• Proactive and self-motivated in seeking opportunities for data analysis and process improvement.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
